Winter Storm Warning in Effect for the South Bay Area

Rain lingers over parts of California from big, slow-moving storm systems. Snow continues to blanket the East Coast. Some cities are even under a winter coat of sleet and ice.

But a winter storm is in the making in the South Bay.

As of 2:25 p.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service’s Bay Area forecast, the storm is tracking through the region, with temperatures in the 40s and 50s along I-5.

The storm is expected to move east across the Bay Area on Friday and Saturday, bring snow and high winds to the North Bay and Santa Clara County on Sunday, according to NWS.

It will start to ease on Monday, but expect the risk of blizzard conditions in the North Bay and Santa Clara County on Tuesday.

A storm warning for parts of the North Bay and Bay Area has been issued through at least 10 p.m. Sunday.

The Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the South Bay Area.
