An 18-year-old student with cerebral palsy who was paralyzed from the waist down is to wed a man with Down syndrome after winning a court battle to marry a 15-year-old girl who is now 18, according to reports.
Taylor Lautner, who has a spinal cord stimulator to help him walk, said he had asked 15-year-old Taylor Dome to marry him last year on the condition that she get his disability benefits.

Taylor Dome, who has Down syndrome, said she told Taylor Lautner she would marry him even if he had to quit his job, reported KABC-TV.
Lautner took the young couple’s marriage vows on July 31, KABC-TV reported.
“I couldn’t be happier,” Lautner told the station. “I never felt more in love in my entire life.”
A court battle is now in progress over what is expected to be a historic victory for the couple, reported The Associated Press (AP).
The Associated Press reported that the legal battle began because Taylor Dome was under the legal age to marry, and because she wasn’t born with Down syndrome.
The couple was married in a civil ceremony, instead of a religious service, as is required in California, reported the AP.
