Massive storm to lash Southern California with three days of rain and snow

The most powerful storm to lash Southern California in more than a century is expected to dump an estimated 5 to 10 inches of rain in the morning on Friday, and then snow and ice accumulations in excess of an inch to 1 1/2 inches will likely continue into the weekend.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory that said temperatures will peak in the low 100s and low 80s Monday into the high 90s but rain will continue through much of the afternoon on Friday. The high will likely remain in the mid-to-upper 80s and be accompanied by snow showers that could occur throughout the evening.
