Is Responsible Travel to Hawaii Fun?

Most visitors to Hawaii are daytrippers and people planning to stay for a few days. Not all visitors are daytrippers.
A recent survey of visitors to Hawaii to the Los Angeles Times found that 73 percent are planning to stay in Hawaii for at least a few days. A survey by IHS Travel found that the majority of Hawaii visitors were on vacation.
Visitors of the island for the month of September to the Travel Channel reported, “I definitely don’t want to leave the islands until they get me a job.”
‘It’s not fun to travel as a tourist’
According to a recent study, tourists who were “more connected to their hometown” made their trip to Hawaii “more pleasurable.”
“I wouldn’t say it’s more fun, but we have more control over what we do,” said David Haddad, 28, of Houston, Texas, who flew to Hawaii with his wife, who works in a hospital in Chicago. “The fun of it was definitely that we could do activities we wanted to do, and not worry about work.”
The survey of visitors to Hawaii to the Los Angeles Times found that 73 percent of those surveyed reported making their trip to Hawaii more pleasurable.
The survey by IHS Travel found that the majority of Hawaii visitors were on vacation.
“The survey shows that Hawaii travelers are mostly on vacation, so the travel industry should think twice before trying to convince visitors to spend their money in Hawaii that are planning on spending their money here,” said IHS Travel CEO Michael Abrash.
